Up early (I wasn’t too late back from the pub – oh didn’t I mention that? Oh well, too late) and on with the packing and cleaning of our house – we had to be out by 11am. More students are arriving for a short course next week. We managed and made it to the cookery school for coffee and a scone. A last word from Darina and hugs all round. Not really goodbye I feel sure. It was a lovely sunny day and we took a last walk round the gardens. Graeme (my husband – who has been looking after himself for the last three months) arrived yesterday and pointed out a tree house beside the herb garden. Three months I’ve been here and never noticed it – he spots it first day! I was not alone – Margaret hadn’t noticed it either. Up we went and got a brilliant view of the herb garden.
Lastly, a night at Ballymaloe House, just as at the beginning of this journey, and then home.
